Vintage Kigu Convertible Powder Compact Cobalt Blue Enamel Applied Butterfly Boxed Unused 1960s

A truly stunning vintage Kigu Convertible powder compact, dating to circa 1960s and presented in exceptional unused condition.

The lid is finished in a magnificent rich cobalt blue enamel with a beautiful dimensional butterfly mounted at the centre. The butterfly is picked out in vivid ruby red and black enamel with delicate gold-tone detailing, creating a wonderfully dramatic contrast against the luminous blue background. The reverse is finished with Kigu’s finely engine-turned gold-tone decoration.

Measuring approximately 8cm in diameter, the compact opens to reveal a beautifully clean interior with a clear mirror and Kigu’s patented Convertible powder fitting, designed to accommodate loose or solid powder.

Exceptionally complete, it retains its original Kigu presentation box, black protective pouch, removable washable sifter and original Kigu Convertible instruction leaflet. The compact appears unused and has survived remarkably well.

A particularly striking and beautifully preserved Kigu, made all the more desirable by its vibrant enamel decoration, applied butterfly and unusually complete original presentation.
