A striking vintage Stratton powder compact, featuring a wonderfully vivid scene of flying mallard ducks over a pond, set against a rich cobalt blue background.
The front is particularly eye-catching, with three ducks in flight above reeds, water lilies and water, the deep blue finish catching the light beautifully. The reverse has Stratton’s classic textured gold-tone finish.
Inside is a clear mirror and Stratton’s distinctive self-opening inner powder lid, which is designed to lift automatically as the compact is opened. The Stratton name and familiar logo are visible to the interior. It also retains its fabric-edged powder sifter and puff.
Measures approximately 7.5 cm in diameter.
In good vintage condition overall, with some light surface scratches and marks to the decorative front and general age-related wear to the gold-tone metalwork. The interior remains bright and attractive, and the mirror presents well. Please see photographs for the condition in detail.
