The black floral case is what makes this little Stratton comb such a nice piece. It has a lively garden of red, pink, yellow and purple flowers against a glossy black ground, picked out by a neat gold-tone border. The reverse has a finely textured, engine-turned gold-tone finish, giving it a smart contrast.
The burgundy comb is marked “Stratton England” and sits neatly with its floral holder. Measuring approximately 10.5cm long, it is a pleasingly compact vanity accessory to keep in a handbag or add to a collection of vintage Stratton pieces.
There is a loose hinge to the floral case, so it will need careful handling and is priced with this in mind. The decorative finish and comb both present well overall, with light age-related surface wear visible on close inspection.
