A beautiful 1970s Stratton Giselle powder compact, distinguished by its wonderfully theatrical ballet scene. The round gold-tone case is centred with a finely textured pictorial insert showing a dancer in white supporting a ballerina in a flowing crimson-red dress, set against a deep navy and violet stage-like background. A warm gold-tone border frames the scene beautifully, giving this compact a particularly glamorous presence.
The reverse is finished in Stratton’s finely textured basketweave pattern, with the maker’s name displayed on a central rectangular panel. Measuring approximately 7cm across, the compact opens to reveal a circular mirror and a separate protective inner door over the powder well. It is complete with its white mesh sifter and white Stratton-branded powder puff.
Presented in lovely unused vintage condition, with the ballet image, gold-tone finish, mirror, fittings, mesh sifter and branded puff all appearing very well preserved. Please refer to the photographs, which form part of the condition description.
