Vintage Stratton Lip View Folding Handbag Mirror Gold Tone Engine Turned 6cm

A lovely vintage Stratton Lip View mirror, made in England and featuring one of Stratton’s wonderfully clever folding designs.

The gold-tone case has an elegant engine-turned geometric pattern of sweeping interlaced lines, giving it a beautiful Art Deco-inspired appearance. Measuring approximately 6 cm across, the compact form opens to reveal a mirror and the hinged frame folds out to create a freestanding mirror – perfect for lipstick and make-up application.

Marked “Stratton England” with registered design details to the folding mechanism.

The mirror remains bright and clear, while the metalwork shows some age-related surface wear, rubbing and tarnishing, particularly around the folding stand and mechanism, as shown in the photographs. The mechanism opens and displays beautifully.
