Vintage Stratton Powder Compact Navy Blue White Rose Floral 1950s

A beautifully detailed vintage Stratton powder compact, distinguished by its rich glossy navy-blue enamel and a lovely white rose in full bloom, accompanied by a rosebud and fresh green leaves. Soft shading gives the petals a delicate sense of depth, while tiny yellow centres and bright yellow leaf accents bring a particularly pretty contrast to the deep blue background. A slim gold-tone rim completes the design with a warm, elegant edge.

This is an appealingly substantial compact, measuring 8.5cm in diameter. The reverse is finished in finely textured gold-tone metal with a repeating small star motif and the central Stratton Made in England mark. Inside, a round mirror within the outer lid and a further hinged internal cover above the white powder well insert. The floral lid has a quintessentially mid-century character and remains wonderfully striking.

The compact is in good vintage condition. There are light surface scratches to the blue enamel from use, together with a small area of blue finish loss at the upper rim. The gold-tone metal has age-related wear and tarnishing in places, most noticeably around the interior fittings and edges.
