A lovely Stratton powder compact with a scalloped square shape and a romantic colour-printed pastoral scene to the lid. The design depicts an embracing couple among cherubs and a waterfall, with a partially legible inscribed tablet within the scene. Its gold-tone frame and textured back, scattered with small star-like details, complement the decorative lid beautifully.
Made in England and likely dating to the 1950s, this compact measures approximately 7.5cm across. Inside are a circular mirror retaining its original Stratton patent instruction label, together with a powder well beneath a Stratton-marked inner cover.
