Antique French Ormolu Jewellery Casket: Bevelled Glass Lid, Trinket Box

A charming Belle Époque vanity casket—a petite French ormolu trinket box with a thick bevelled oval glass lid and embossed foliate sides.

The gilt‑brass body stands on four ornate feet with a rope‑moulded rim and curled latch tab.

Inside is the original rose‑pink padded cushion—ideal for a ring, brooch or keepsake. Decorative, functional and wonderfully displayable.

Condition

Good antique condition with honest patina. Light rubbing to the gilding and minor surface scuffs to the glass from age and use.

The original cushion shows even fading and some tuft wear as photographed.

Care
Dust gently; clean the exterior glass lightly with a soft cloth. Avoid moisture near the cushion and hinge. Do not polish the metal—its patina is part of the appeal.
