Antique Ormolu Jewellery Casket: Cologne Cathedral Landmark Lid Trinket Box
A rare, very large Belle Époque vitrine casket—gilt‑brass (ormolu) on ornate feet with bowed bevelled side panes and a thick bevelled lid over a chromolithograph view of “Kölner Dom” (Cologne Cathedral).
Made for the Grand Tour/resort trade c. 1895–1915, these landmark‑lid caskets are prized; this example is an unusually generous size, ideal for a vanity display or as a shop/showcase piece.
