Vintage 1930s Art Deco Chrome Powder Compact with Marcasite Clasp – Geometric Design

A striking vintage Art Deco powder compact dating to around the 1930s, featuring a beautifully shaped silver-tone chrome case with elegant geometric engraved decoration.

The real highlight is the wonderfully ornate architectural-style clasp, intricately detailed and set with sparkling marcasites – a particularly lovely period feature that gives this compact a distinctly glamorous Deco character.

Measuring approximately 8.5 x 6.5cm, the compact opens to reveal a large oval mirror and powder compartment with its fitted sifter still present. No powder puff is included.

The compact remains in lovely vintage condition overall, with age-related surface marks and light scratching to the polished exterior as shown in the photographs. The marcasite clasp is particularly attractive and adds considerably to the character of this unusual piece.
