Vintage Melissa Mother of Pearl Musical Compact – Photo Frame & Powder Compact

A beautiful vintage Melissa musical compact with a shimmering mother of pearl lid, in lovely condition. The front is set with iridescent mother of pearl tiles framed in gold tone, giving it a luxurious, jewellery‑box feel, while the back has a fine textured pattern that feels wonderfully mid‑century.

Open it up to reveal a fitted mirror, a lidded powder well and a little photo frame section, so you can add your own favourite picture. There’s also the original winding key for the musical movement – wind it gently and the compact plays a sweet, nostalgic tune (believed to be “The Anniversary Song”), making this a really special piece.

The mirror is clear and usable, the interior is clean and the hinges and clasp all work well. There are only light signs of age to the metal and mother of pearl, as you’d expect from a carefully kept vintage compact, and no obvious damage.
