Vintage Volupté Lucky Purse Compact c.1948–1950, Rhinestone Clasp, Original Chain, Puff & Sifter, Rare USA Powder Compact

A wonderful and increasingly hard-to-find Volupté Lucky Purse powder compact dating to the late 1940s, beautifully designed to resemble a miniature evening handbag.

Finished in a warm gold tone, this charming novelty compact features the original rhinestone floral clasp, carrying chain and the distinctive purse-shaped silhouette that made the Lucky Purse one of Volupté’s most recognisable designs.

This example retains its original powder sifter and Volupté puff, making it a particularly complete survivor. The interior is clearly marked Volupté U.S.A., and the compact measures approximately 9cm x 7cm.

Condition is good vintage overall. The exterior displays age-related surface wear and light tarnishing consistent with its age, while the original mirror has significant cracking. Despite this, the compact remains an attractive and highly collectible example of a scarce late-1940s Volupté design, with all of the important original components still present.
