Vintage Guilloché Powder Compact | Large 9cm Silver Tone Compact | Art Deco Inspired Engine Turned Vanity Compact
A beautifully striking vintage powder compact featuring an elegant guilloché engine-turned design in a soft silvery sage tone. This is a particularly large example at approximately 9cm diameter, giving it a wonderfully glamorous dressing table presence compared to standard handbag-sized compacts.
The exterior catches the light beautifully, with two contrasting guilloché patterns creating a sophisticated Art Deco inspired look. One side features a dramatic radiating fan design, while the reverse has an intricate concentric wave pattern, both finely engraved beneath a translucent enamel-style finish. The effect changes subtly depending on the angle of the light, giving the compact a luxurious shimmering appearance.
Inside, the compact retains its original mirror and both original powder pads in soft pale blue, adding lovely authenticity and charm for collectors of vintage vanity accessories. The interior is marked “Chromium Finish,” consistent with mid-century powder compacts dating to approximately the 1950s–1960s.
Condition is good vintage condition overall with age-related wear consistent with use and age. There are some light surface marks, faint scratches, and small areas of wear visible to the finish and interior, all in keeping with a genuine vintage piece that has been carefully enjoyed over the decades.
A wonderfully elegant addition to any vintage vanity collection, dressing table display, or compact collection, with a timeless sophistication that feels beautifully evocative of classic mid-century glamour.
