Vintage Mascot Musical Powder Compact – Isle of Man Triskelion Suitcase Vanity Souvenir (1950s)

£75.00

A charming and highly collectible vintage Mascot musical powder compact dating to the 1950s, designed in the form of a miniature suitcase. The lid features a colourful enamel medallion depicting the Isle of Man triskelion (three legs symbol), a classic mid-century souvenir motif.

Manufactured by Mascot (A.S. Brown, London), a maker known for novelty vanity items in the post-war period, this compact combines decorative design with mechanical charm.

The compact is fitted with a wind-up musical mechanism which plays the tune “Anniversary Song.” The music plays well and adds a lovely nostalgic element to the piece.

Inside, the compact retains its original compartments, mirror, and branded Mascot puff. It also comes complete with its original box, which enhances both presentation and collectability.

This example comes from a small personal collection of musical compacts that I have carefully gathered over time, and I am now beginning to part with a few pieces.

The suitcase form, musical feature, and souvenir detail make this a particularly appealing example for collectors of vintage powder compacts or musical vanity items.

Measurements:
Approx. 7.5 cm x 6.5 cm (2.95 x 2.55 inches)

Condition:
Good vintage condition. The exterior presents well with a warm gold tone finish. The musical mechanism is in working order and plays clearly. The mirror shows age-related fogging, and the original puff has some staining consistent with use. Overall, a well-preserved and attractive example.
